    01 / CHOOSE

    Give one task your attention.

Choose something specific to work on. Add it to your list, close what you do not need, and start the 25-minute focus timer.

    02 / FOCUS

Let the timer hold the time.

Work until the interval ends. If another task comes to mind, add a note to your list and return to the task in front of you.

    03 / RESET

    Make space for a break.

Start a 5-minute break. After four completed focus sessions, the timer prepares a longer 15-minute break. Begin the next interval when you are ready.

    Small intervals. Clear intentions.

    What is a Pomodoro timer?

A Pomodoro timer divides work or study into focused intervals and regular breaks. This online timer starts with 25 minutes of focus, 5-minute short breaks, and a 15-minute long break after every four focus sessions.

Use it as a study timer, a writing timer, or a quiet companion for everyday work. In Settings, you can change each interval from 1 to 120 minutes and choose whether to hear a sound when time is up.

Read our practical guide to the Pomodoro method.

    Good to know.

Do I need to download a Pomodoro app?

No. This timer runs in your browser with no account or download. Open the page, choose your interval, and press Start. JavaScript needs to be enabled.

Will the timer work in a background tab?

Yes. You can read our guide or switch tabs while the timer runs. The alarm is scheduled when you start, so it does not rely on the countdown being visible. Keep this site open in a tab and your device awake. Closing the tab or navigating that tab to another website stops its alarm. Device sleep and browser suspension can also delay or prevent sound. After reopening or reloading, enable sound again; the saved countdown catches up.

Can I use a different focus and break length?

Yes. Open Settings to adjust focus, short break, and long break durations. A running or paused interval keeps its original length; new durations apply to the next interval or when you reset.

Where are my tasks and sessions saved?

Tasks, preferences, and up to 300 completed focus sessions stay in this browser’s local storage. They are not sent to a server or synced between devices. Clearing site data removes them. Private browsing may erase them when it closes.
